About the Teacher
Linda Marrazzo has practiced traditional Hatha yoga for over 40 years. Her 200 Hour Teacher Training was completed at the Pranakriya School of Yoga Healing Arts under Yoganand Michael Carroll. Pranakriya is based on the Hatha Yoga teachings of Swami Kripalu. It is the practice of traditional asanas, pranayama, the development of a quiet mind, and deep relaxation.
Linda brings to her classes both experience and a dedication to teaching. Her focus is on developing strength and flexibility, the internal flow of circulation and energy, and awareness of body and mind. Her goal is to nurture in her students a life long love for yoga.
Inspired by a compassion for animals, Linda has followed a vegan life style for over 30 years and has studied and practiced a Macrobiotic Diet for 15 years. This commitment has developed into an in depth study of the power of food and its effects on the body and mind. She holds a Certification in Whole Foods Plant-Based Nutrition.
In addition to her yoga practice, Linda’s hobbies include music, art, hiking, cooking and spending time with her husband, children and pets.
Hatha Yoga
Hatha Yoga is the physical and breathing techniques of Yoga. The style is relaxed and slow-paced. Postures are held longer and are performed with great attention to detail. Hatha Yoga includes postures that are suitable for all levels of yogis from beginner to advanced.
Sun Salutation
Sun Salutations are one of my favorite flows of Yoga postures. In a short 10 minute session you can stretch and strengthen the entire body. When time is limited, Sun Salutations are a great way to maintain strength and flexibility between practices.
Meditation
The meditative effects on the mind and body, when practicing Yoga, promotes relaxation, reduces stress, increases body awareness, and enhances focus. The combination of physical postures and breathing techniques brings the yogi a calmer state of mind and overall feeling of wellness.
